The New Age
The development of new technologies, such as computers, began after World War II had ended. The First ever digital computer was called the Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer, or ENIAC for short. ENIAC weighed over 30 tons, and was about the size of a small house. In the start of 1959, a man by the name of Robert Noyce created the world's very first integrated circuit. This was a complete electric circuit, on a tiny silicon chip.
The First Apple Computer
Apple's very first computer, was called the Apple-1. This computer was designed and hand built, by none other than Steve Wozniak. Steve Jobs, a friend of Wozniak, had the idea of putting the Apple-1 on the market. The Apple-1 went on sale in July 1976 at a price of $666.66.Thus, making it Apple's very first product.
Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley is a nickname for the southern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area in the United States. This is where most of the world's largest high-tech corporations were founded. The reason for it's name, is referring to the large number of silicon chip manufacturers and innovators, but eventually began referring to the high-tech companies, as well.
