The Buzz at Westbrook School

February 17, 2023

From the Principal...

Dear Westbrook Families,

We had an engaging spirit week at Westbrook where we celebrated kindness. Thank you so much to the kindness club for creating signs and themes for each day of the week. Please see this video for an overview of our kindness club program. I was thrilled to spotlight our kindness club sponsors at last night's Board of Education meeting. Thank you Elena Coughlin (literacy teacher), Kara McCarthy (literacy teacher), and Lisa Ryno (social worker) for all of their hard work organizing this club to spread kindness throughout Westbrook and our community.

Students enjoyed delivering their Valentine's day cards this week at school. The PTO surprised students and staff with Valentine's decorations on classroom doors and hallways. It was a special day!

The second trimester ends today. First-grade and kindergarten students will receive report cards on Friday, February 24th.

There is no school on Monday, February 20th for Presidents Day. I hope you enjoy your long weekend. We look forward to having our students back on Tuesday, February 21st.

For your children,

Danielle Crandall

We are so happy to announce our second session of Kindness Club was a great success!

Our kind students made personal t-shirts to express their own vision of what kind looks like

in an effort to spread kindness through our community.

Kindness club also planned and organized KINDNESS WEEK!!

Our sweet students made themed posters to help students remember each fun day of Kindness Week.

Additionally, our kind students made blankets for animals in shelters so they can feel warmth and love from Westbrook.

We are so proud of ALL the KIND children we have at Westbrook School!!
