SHS Staff Member Spotlight:
Ms. Acevedo is an incredible example of a hardworking, dedicated Spartan. She continually creates dynamic lesson plans and helps every student in the class-- meeting with students for Academic Assistance every chance that she gets. She makes time to participate in events within the school and say "hello" to everyone in the building. Ms. Acevedo is also an amazing colleague. One of the resident tech gurus in the English department, Ms. Acevedo is always willing to help out her fellow teachers. Despite all of the added difficulties of the year due to the pandemic, she brings positive energy each day.
Ms. Miranda Angelucci
Ms. Angelucci hit the ground running in one of the most challenging school years. She immediately became an integral part of our Spartan team. Her positivity, energy, expertise and compassion translates into success with the parents, students and staff members she works with. Ms. Angelucci also leads several wellness initiatives and community outreach programs. She has also been volunteering her time to support our ALIGN program, and she goes above and beyond for each and every student that she works with.

Students of the Month:
English - Dean Napoli comes to class every day ready to work, and truly puts his best into everything he does. He puts his head down and gets things done. Dean works hard through all challenges in English class. He asks questions when he has them, advocates for himself when he needs to, and is always happy to answer a question when he feels confident in his response. He is insightful, respectful, and truly a pleasure to have in class.
Math - Stephanie Glogiewicz always gives her best effort, completing all assignments thoroughly and on time, actively participating both when virtual and when in person, and taking risks by volunteering answers to questions even when she is unsure. She is a strong self-advocate who also asks questions when she needs clarification and attends academic assistance as needed without prompting. Stephanie is friendly, polite, and respectful and makes a point of greeting the teachers as she arrives and wishing us a good day as she leaves.
Science - Chase Geer has consistently demonstrated a strong aptitude for chemistry throughout the year. He participates readily in class and is always prepared. Chase has a positive attitude and an exemplary work ethic.
World Languages - Nathan Miller is always prepared with a thoughtful answer in class. He tutors Spanish students through NHS and is always seeking to improve his language skills. Nate is the perfect example of an inquisitive and motivated Spanish student.
Social Studies - Laramie Kipp is doing great this year in AP European History class.
TCC - Remick Schneider is a freshman in Exploring Culinary Arts and has become a culinary sensation. He has grown so much as a student and chef in culinary arts. Remick has never missed a cooking lab and has been preparing recipes 100% virtually for the entire semester. He has not missed a beat during this unusual school year and has risen to the occasion and beyond. Remick is a hard working young man, eager to learn and it shows in his newly developed culinary skills.
Art - Julia Lengen is taking both Intermediate Sculpture and Intro to Drawing and painting. Julia is a creative, conscientious art student, who dedicates a great amount of thought and planning into her work. She challenges her skills with new ideas, takes pride in her work, manages time and media, and seeks input from her peers and teachers for creative production. Julia is always actively engaged, exhibits a positive enthusiasm for the process, and assists others in class.
Physical Education - Arianna Puleo is an outstanding PE and Driver's Ed. student. Arianna has maintained an A+ average all 4 marking periods and has been a pleasure to have in class.
