Middle School Happenings
5th Grade Persuasive Essays
5th Grade students in Mrs. Tabbert's room worked on persuasive essays. Their arguments centered around convincing Ms. L on the benefits of swimming. 5th graders did an amazing job, and will have the opportunity to swim at the CRC this Friday, January 31st. More information will come home with your student.
8th Grade Passion Projects
8th grade students are working on projects in English/reading. These are focused on areas of passion for each student. Ms. L has had the opportunity to visit with several students about their plans and interests. Wow! We have students who are invested in our community and want to serve others to make a difference. Keep up the great work!
Creative Opportunity
CREATE is offering a fun “String Art” class for students on February 12th from 2:30 - 4:30 (early dismissal at school that day). There are permission forms that can be picked up from the office and cost will be $15. This opportunity is part of a 6th graders social studies project. Please join in on the fun! All Middle Schoolers welcome!
Soft Drink Consumption at Lunch
We have started to see an increase in soft drinks packed in student lunches. While we do not have a policy banning soft drinks at this time, we highly encourage parents to pack health conscious options including water and flavor packets, milk, or other low calorie beverage options. This aligns with our 5-2-1-0 initiative to help keep our minds and bodies healthy, and ready to learn during the day! #healthychoicescount
