Dear Families

EduDance Concert

Well done to all our PP to Yr 6 students who performed so well at the two EduDance concerts this afternoon. Thank you to Tracey Voysey from EduDance who has worked so hard with the students for the last 8 weeks.

Graduation

Our Graduation celebration will be held on Tuesday of Week 9, 6th December. We look forward to praying with our students and to remembering and celebrating their wonderful St Emilie's journey. There are no restrictions on family members who can attend these celebrations. We will begin with a Mass at 5pm in the Church followed by a light supper and assembly with presentations. We ask that families please park in the school car park as there is another Parish Mass immediately after the Graduation Mass. Many thanks to those choir members who are joining us and generously sharing their gifts on the night.

Reports

Student reports via SEQTA will be ready for viewing in Week 9. Please remember that the formal report is just one small part of a much bigger picture and that parents play a very key role in communicating respectfully and encouragingly to your child.

If your child is not returning to St Emilie’s in 2023, you will need to access SEQTA Engage and your child/ren’s Reports this year. Once 2023 begins your access to the St Emilie’s SEQTA Engage will be revoked by the system. Please ensure that if you would like a copy of any Reports, you download and save them, before the end of this year.

Staff for 2023

The Staff List for 2023 is published below. Class Lists will then go home in Week 10. Please note that class requests for 2023 closed on Friday 28th October.

Band and Choir

Thank you to Mr Dabbs and the Band and Choir who performed for the PP to Year 6 students on Monday afternoon. It was great to hear the music and songs that they have practised throughout the year.

Thanksgiving Mass/Farewell Morning Tea

At 9am on Friday the 9th December, we will have our Whole School Thanksgiving Mass to celebrate the wonderful year we have had in 2022. After the whole school Mass there will be a community morning tea to farewell staff leaving St Emilie's at the end of 2022. We ask that each family that would like to attend to please bring a plate to share.

P & F Volunteers

The P&F received an overwhelming response from families expressing their interest to help with school events. It certainly highlights the incredible community spirit we are blessed to have here at St. Emilie’s. A very heartfelt thank you. With any event, there are limited spaces for helpers. Please know though, that we appreciate your willingness and interest to help, the gift of your time, your support and contributions.

Volunteers are a valued part of the heart of our school community. Thank you once again for your expressions of interest.

P & F Fundraising

What are we fundraising for?

This year we are busily saving for the new Year 3-6 playground equipment.

In addition, P&F funds this year will be used to offset some of the cost of:

  • Mathletics
  • Reading Eggs and Reading Eggspress
  • Literacy Pro
  • Sport Equipment
  • Digital Tech Resources
  • Library books

COVID

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS POST INITIAL POSITIVE RESULT

When an individual receives a COVID-19 positive result, the individual is deemed by WA Health unlikely to suffer from re-infection for a period of 4 weeks. Therefore, further Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) testing when subsequently unwell is not required during this time, as a COVID-19 positive result may be returned throughout this period while the initial virus is being shed.

However, where a person is unwell within their 4-week period and are showing symptoms of COVID-19, WA Health reiterate that the impacted person should remain home until symptoms subside, particularly where symptoms are respiratory in nature (e.g. productive cough).

All unwell COVID-19 symptomatic students should remain home and refrain from coming to school.
