What in the World is Write Across Greenville? Calibration and Scoring

Audience: 3-8 ELAR
What is Write Across Greenville and why do we do it? How do I score the samples? What do I do with them after I’ve scored them? We can answer your questions about the Write Across Greenville Writing Screening at this meeting. We will calibrate as a group to ensure we understand the rubric and score the samples with consistency. Bring a few samples, and we can score them together.

Sync Up! Study Sync Resources

Need a crash course in how to navigate and explore available resources in Study Sync? We will take a quick tour of what Study Sync has to offer and how you can apply it to maximize your planning and instruction.
Middle School Mash Up: Combining Reading & Writing in 7th & 8th Grade
CPE Credit: 1 hour
Audience: 7-8 ELAR
This session will discuss the next steps for getting the most out of the combined reading/language arts classroom. We will revisit the needs of the teacher based on input and feedback. Participants will also take a look at the newly designed pacing guide.
Write On: Resources for Writing
When: September 23rd
CPE Credit: 1 hour
Audience: K-5 ELAR
Do you need to know what Patterns of Power, Grammar Keepers, and Text Structures From Nursery Rhymes resources are and how to use them? Need a quick refresher? This is the session for you! Bring your copies of the books, and we will take a quick tour through their setup and how they are intended to be used in the classroom. If you do not have access to these resources, you will be provided a copy at this meeting.

Do you need ready-to-use strategies and resources to support your social studies planning and instruction? This session will look into all that Studies Weekly has to offer. Engaging strategies to boost student success will also be shared.
What’s New in the STAAR World?
CPE Credit: 1 hour
Audience: Grades 3-9 Math & Science Teachers
This workshop highlights “almost” everything you need to know about the NEW types of STAAR test questions that will be on the 2021-2022 STAAR & EOC tests! Be informed and proactive as you prepare your students to be successful. Also, a lucky participant will receive a door prize.
Using Guided Math Effectively

Audience: K-5 Math Teachers
What are the essentials of guided math? How can I be efficient so I don’t burn out? What should I do if my students keep interrupting the teacher table? If you have these questions and more, this workshop is for you! Not only will you learn, but you will also have a chance at a fun giveaway.
Teaching Academic Vocabulary in Science
When: September 16th and October 21
CPE Credit: 1 hour
Audience: K-5 Science
Engage your brain with instructional strategies that build multiple pathways to academic vocabulary words. Learn how dedicating time to teaching academic words helps students develop and increase comprehension while retaining and committing that knowledge to memory. An awesome STEM door prize will be awarded at the session.
Interactive Secondary Math Notebooks
When: September 21st

New Math STAAR Question Types
CPE Credit: 1 hour
Audience: 6-12 Math
This session is designed to help teachers explore the new STAAR Math question types. Participants will receive a preview of which new question types will be on the Reporting Period 1 Math Assessments. The discussion will be geared toward determining how to provide the practice necessary for students to be successful when answering these questions.
Mandt Relational - Full Course - Saturday Session
CPE Credit: 6 hours
Audience: Open
This session is focused on the importance of relational capacity, trauma-informed instruction, and the power of using effective deescalation strategies. The course includes tie-ins to Maslow's, the crisis cycle, and verbal/nonverbal communication essentials. Participants will receive the full Mandt System relational training.
Mandt Relational - Afternoon Sessions
CPE Credit: 1.5 hours each session
Audience: Open
If you are unable to attend the Saturday Mandt session, but you are interested in learning all the fabulous information and relational components it covers, these are the sessions for you. These classes divide the Mandt Relational training into shorter, afternoon sessions. Participants will still gain all the same valuable knowledge just in a spaced-out manner.
