The Lawn Boy
By Gary Paulsen
The Lawn Boy started off as a poor boy in a poor family. For his birthday his grandma gave him a very old lawn mower. As he started mowing his lawn, his next door neighbor asked how much he charged. When he started mowing his neighbor's lawn some one else asked him to mow his lawn. After a few months he has made a lot of money and asked his parents what they want. He doesn't get the answer. When he mows a lawn the person is friends with a boxer and then the boxer needs a sponcerer and the friend asks for the Lawn Boy to be the sponcerer. The Lawn Boy said yes but knew that it would be a problem getting to the matches and when it comes time for the match he says that he can''t come. The Boxer finally said okay and let him pass. As the Lawn Boy gets more money he becomes famous and a group of guys try to be take over the business but the boxer comes to the rescue. The Lawn Boy then lived not poor anymore.
