3rd Grade News
May 8th - 12th
Happy Monday!
We hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend!
We are STAAR testing today and tomorrow. We are so proud of the hard work your children did this morning! Please see the information below for how to help your child be ready for tomorrow's testing. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week, only parents working at kindergarten centers are able to be in the building - this includes lunch time and library volunteers.
Due to STAAR testing, there is no homework or spelling test this week :)
We will have Bring Your Own Device time on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. Your child may bring his/her own technology to use in the classroom on these days.
Thursday, May 11th is our field trip to the Sci-Tech Discovery Center. Please send in your child's permission slip as soon as possible.
Please see below for important dates and learning targets.

STAAR TESTING
Next week your child will be taking the Math (Monday, May 8th) and Reading (Tuesday, May 9th) STAAR tests. We need your help with the following to make this a productive and positive time for your child.
- Please ensure that your child gets enough rest and has a nutritious breakfast on Sunday and Monday so he/she can do their best on their 4 hour test each day.
- Arrival – Please have your child at school by 7:35 at the latest.
- Supplies:
- We encourage your child to bring a water bottle. This cuts down on children taking numerous trips to the water fountain.
- We will provide a snack for your child.
- Clothes – We suggest students wear comfortable clothes and bring a jacket in case they get cold.
Field Trip
Please help your child remember the following things:
1. Wear a Wells shirt if possible.
2. Bring a sack lunch and don't forget a drink. It's best if everything is disposable. The cafeteria will have sack lunches available for those that forget or want to buy a lunch.
