News for the Families of Duval Charter School at Southside

Great Things Are Happening

We have great things happening at Southside. Thank you all who joined us at the Fall Festival on Saturday! I enjoyed seeing you all relaxing with your families. Even through the rain, we all had a good time. Who knew the dunk tank would be a workout! We also had teachers and administrators from other CSUSA schools visit us today. Our students and staff did an excellent job. Although this comes as no surprise, it is always good to have others see the wonderful things we have going on at Southside.

Yours in Education,

Ashley Doty

Character Parade (K-5th) and Contest (6th-7th)

On Thursday, October 29, students may come dressed as a character from a book. Kindergarten through 5th grades will have a parade outside to show off their costumes, while 6th and 7th will have a costume contest incorporated into their positive behavior party. Be on the lookout for a flyer to come home soon detailing the rules for dress-up, but general guidelines are that the costumes must be characters from a book, they must bring the book, the costume may not represent violence, and the costume must cover the same surface area or more that the regular uniform does.

If you're interested in attending the Positive Behavior Parties OR want to get badges pre-printed for the parade (highly recommended), please RSVP on our Volunteer Spot page. Link below!
