Powell Parent Newsletter
December 2019
As a school, it is our responsibility to partner with parents and the community to make sure that the needs of students are being met everyday. In order to do that, we need to connect with parents through positive communication. Being informed has the potential to make an affirmative difference in your child's educational experience. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you connected and to inform you of school policies and upcoming events on campus.
Targeted Tutoring
Students participating in our Targeted Tutoring will continue after the winter break. Parents, please make sure that you plan accordingly for either dropping off for the morning or picking up after school.

The holidays are approaching, but it is VERY important that we have your student at school with us everyday.
Important Information
- PLEASE drop off & pick up students in the designated areas. DO NOT have students crossing the street by jay-walking. It is VERY DANGEROUS for students to get dropped off or picked up in the middle of the street.
- STUDENTS NEED TO BE PICKED UP AFTER SCHOOL. If they are not in WRAP, or a school sponsored activity, they must be picked up at the end of the school day. They can not be on campus outside of school hours unattended.
- DRIVE SLOW through the drop off/pick up zone, children are walking.
- DO NOT park in handicap parking spots or double park.
- Please drive to the end of drop off/pick up zones in order to keep traffic flowing.
- No early student pick up after 2:45.
- You need identification when visiting campus.
- We have a CLOSED CAMPUS during lunch from 12:00-1:00.
- Make sure that parent/guardian & emergency contact information is current.
- Our office is busy making sure that the school day goes smoothly, in order to function at a high level we would appreciate parents limiting phone calls to communicate messages to students.
