Attendance-Remote and In-person

We are taking attendance for both in person AND remote learners. If your child will be absent from school, even if they are remote, please call your child’s school to report their absence before 8 a.m. If your child is absent because they are ill, please be sure to state the specific symptoms.

ELEMENTARY HANDBOOK

Parents can access the electronic version of the Elementary Handbook on the D303 website. Go to the D303 website - Our Schools - Student Handbooks - 2020-2021 - Elementary Handbook and Discipline Procedures Addendum. Please note that you will not be receiving a paper copy this year. It is the responsibility of each family to review both handbooks with their children. Thank you for your support.

Breakfast

Ordering breakfast is different this year. Students will not be eating breakfast in school. Students will order breakfast in the morning and receive their breakfast for the next day in the afternoon before leaving at 1:40. They are to save that breakfast to eat the next morning. Please encourage your students to save their breakfast for the next morning.

Device Advice!

With students bringing devices back and forth for the first time, we wanted to take a moment to review expectations. Devices (either ipads for K-1 or Chromebook for 2) should be going home each night and coming back to school each day. A charger came home with your child's device. Chargers should stay at home and the device should be charged overnight and be fully charged when it comes in each day.

Please be sure that students do not put water bottles in their backpacks. Water spills are frequent and will destroy the devices. Please either put water bottles in an outside pocket of the backpack or have your child carry their water bottle. Families will be responsible for replacement fees of lost or damaged iPads. The replacement fees will be $250 for Chromebooks and $330 for iPads. Stolen devices will be $50 with a police report and full price without a police report.

If you are having trouble at home with your child's device, you can visit https://district.d303.org/elearning-tech-support for support. This can also be found from the main page of the D303 website.

ECRA - SEL Survey

St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 strives to provide all students with learning experiences that are responsive and help students learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As part of this commitment, we are asking students to respond to a survey on their social and emotional wellness. As we plan for the 2020-2021 school year, this information will provide guidance to our schools and teachers about the social and emotional strengths and needs of our students. The survey will be open from August 27, 2020 through September 10, 2020 and students in grades 2-12 will be asked to complete the survey. For more information on the ECRA survey please click English HERE.
