Confronting Ourselves: Building Inclusive Excellence in Our Schools
To register: https://www.mylearningplan.com/WebReg/ActivityProfile.asp?D=13458&I=2516112
In this dynamic and engaging presentation, participants will gain a richer appreciation for the framework of inclusive excellence as a vehicle for improving outcomes for all students. As opposed to traditional surface-level diversity presentations, this session will provide a critical exploration of the ways in which cultural identities shape policy and practice. By confronting their own unconscious biases and identifying strategies for deeper understanding of diverse students, school leaders and teachers become better positioned to implement transformational efforts that promote culturally responsive teaching and learning. The presenter will guide participants through a wide range of learning activities to enhance knowledge and skills for generating necessary change within themselves and their schools. The session concludes with a powerful opportunity for participants to share personally and celebrate one another, offering a powerful experience that strengthens bonds of trust and commitment to the mission of inclusive excellence.
