Director's Message
Hello William D. Ford Career-Technical Center Students, Families, and Staff,
William D. Ford Career-Technical Center is exited to announce that we have established our first Youth-to-Registered Apprenticeship. This opportunity provides a paid training experience that will prepare our for students early consideration for future skilled trades apprenticeships.
On Tuesday, March 14th Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) will be at William D. Ford Career-Tech Center to present to our construction students. The students will learn about LIUNA, apprenticeships, and the opportunities for great occupations that come from apprenticeships.
Students accepted into this program will work through classrooom instruction and be placed on worksites with employer partners. The time students spend at an employeer site will count directly toward registered apprenticeship completion hours should they choose to pursue that pathway.
We are looking forward to rolling this program out in partnership with LIUNA. Great futures start right here. Our students are skilled, trained, and ready.
With students in mind,
