Progress Reports were Published on Friday! Keep up with your child's academic progress!
Parents,
The First Nine Weeks progress reports were published on Friday. All progress reports and upcoming report cards can be viewed in the Home Access Center (HAC). Below is a reminder on how to check your child’s grades in the Home Access Center.
The key is to log into the myspringisd portal and into HAC. There you will find a Grades tab. When you click on that, you will see where to locate your child’s progress report (IPR), report cards and more.
Remember, the username and password you use to log into the portal is the same username and password for logging into HAC. Also, parents should log in using their credentials, not their student’s.
Staying connected with your child’s academic progress is a great way to ensure your student’s success in school. By monitoring and encouraging, you can help support your child’s performance.
Reminder of Face Mask Requirements
As we work together to ensure the safety of our students, wearing a face mask is a requirement of all our face to face students. If a student refuses to wear their face mask on a consistent basis, we will request them to return to Empowered Learning at Home. We all must work together to ensure our students and staff are healthy. We appreciate your support.
Face to Face Campus Expectations
As we welcome back so many of our Knights, there are a few safety precautions that we have in place to ensure the safety of all of our Face to Face learners.
- The doors will open at 8:05 a.m. NO students are allowed to be dropped off before this time as there is no one on duty to watch the students before 8:05.
- Car Riders-Students must remain in their vehicle until they have been screened and cleared by a staff member.
- Walkers should line up on the orange feet in the front of the school to ensure social distancing. Parent/Guardians must remain with the students until they have been screened and cleared by a staff member.
- Students are considered tardy after 8:30.
- If a student arrives after 8:30, the parent/guardian must walk the student to the door to be screened. The student must be cleared for entry before the parent/guardian can leave the student.
Thank you for your support with keeping our Knights safe.
Check out the District Tracker for the latest Data on COVID-19
Spring ISD is committed to providing parents accurate and timely information about COVID-19 in our schools and facilities.
Since the beginning of online classes on Aug. 17, the district has been tracking COVID-19 cases and is featuring that data on a special dashboard, located at www.springisd.org/covidtracker. The goal is to provide real-time information to our school community so that families and staff can have the latest data available.
Our tracker is updated whenever there is a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in our district, with total cases within the past week and cumulative cases since Aug. 17, 2020 featured. Users can filter and hover to learn specific locations.
As part of our communications protocols, we’re notifying families whenever there is a positive case that involves students on a campus. The district is also reporting all of the data to the Texas Education Agency each week as required. The state is updating its website weekly.
In the coming weeks, the district is planning more improvements to the tracker to continue to refine and improve how it presents COVID-19 data so everyone can stay informed.
Download the Spring ISD Mobile App and Stay Informed
The app is available from Google Play or the App Store and allows parents and guardians to easily access important student information, including assignments, classes, grades, lunch balances and attendance. Parents can also update their contact information to ensure they receive important messages from the campus or district. This step-by-step guide will help get you started:
After downloading and launching the app, you can access your student’s information by selecting the “Student Info” icon.
Type in your “myspringisd” username and password. If you don’t know your username and password, contact your school.
Once you log in, you will see icons with your name and the names of your children. Select your student’s icon.
Now you will see lots of great information like your student’s classes, grades, assignments and lunch balances.
Click on your name, too, to make sure your phone number, text/SMS number and email address are correct. That way, you’ll be sure to get important campus and district information.
Lastly, make sure to set your alerts. You can get notifications including: missing assignments, class grade updates, assignment grades, and cafeteria balances.
That’s it! You’re ready to use our mobile app, which will help you help your student have a successful year! Questions? Check out: www.springisd.org/mobileapp.
Everyone counts! Complete the U.S. Census by Sept. 30
Spring ISD wants to encourage all families who haven’t completed their 2020 U.S. Census to please do by Sept. 30.
According to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s office, over $30 million in funding is at risk if even 1% of Spring ISD residents are missed in Census 2020.
Completing the Census determines federal funding for government services that are vital, including Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and important school programs such as the National School Lunch Program. Census results also directly impact representation in Congress.
If just 1% of Texas residents aren’t counted in Census 2020, the state could lose hundreds of millions of dollars over the next 10 years in funding for social services and infrastructure programs.
It only takes a few minutes to complete! To fill out your survey online, visit the 2020 U.S. Census website.

Student Code of Conduct Updated to Reflect Changes Related to Pandemic
The district’s 2020-21 Student Code of Conduct has been updated to reflect revisions and additions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically, the handbook now includes guidance around how students are expected to behave to promote safety when health conditions permit in-person learning on the campuses, including maintaining social distancing procedures, handwashing, wearing masks and keeping mouth and nose covered while sneezing and/or coughing.
Students could face disciplinary action for purposefully trying to cough or sneeze on another person, refusing to adhere to social distancing standards, and removing personal protective equipment like a mask with the goal of trying to harm or threaten another person with bodily fluids.
Students who show up to school without a mask or refuse to wear one during the school day may also face a dress code violation. The expectation is that all students come to school wearing a face covering, just as they would adhere to dress code. The goal is to keep everyone in our school safe, including students and staff.
To view the entire Code of Conduct, please click here. Parents without ability to download the Code of Conduct may request one in print by emailing Thomas Graham, the director of Student Affairs at tgraham@springisd.org.
Harris County Announces Free COVID-19 Testing with Shorter Wait Times and Faster Results
Harris County Public Health announced that Harris County’s two stationary COVID-19 test sites in Pasadena and Cy Fair are getting a big boost from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (DSHS). The state and federal government are providing thousands of additional test kits and lab capacity, for quicker test results, in 3 to 5 business days.
There is a new and separate website to register for Surge Testing:
www.doineedacovid19test.com or call 832-927-7575. To get tested at the surge sites, people must be 13 or older, register and select an appointment time and keep their assigned voucher ID, which is required for testing. They also need to keep the username and password they registered with because they will need that to get their test results, in 3-5 days. Surge Sites are open Monday-Saturday and now have evening hours one day a week at each site: Tuesdays in Cy Fair at Pridgeon Stadium from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursdays in Pasadena at San Jacinto College Central Campus, also from 4 to 8 p.m.
Visit www.hcphtx.org for COVID-19 updates and resources.
We are Here for You!
We know this can be a difficult and stressful time for our knights. If your student is in need of counseling services, please fill out the counselor request form and our school counselor, Casey Grimme, will get back to you.
Social Distancing Should not mean social Isolation
Young children need to have quality time with their caregivers and other important people in their lives. Social connectedness improves children’s chances of showing the ability to cope with difficulties and overcoming obstacles regardless of the situation.
Here are some creative approaches to staying connected during this time of self-distancing:
● Using online video chats with friends, and family members outside the immediate home
● Writing letters to friends and family members
● Playing online video games with friends
● Playing board/ and card games
● Cooking and baking together
● Writing a thank you letter to your postman and leaving it in your mailbox for them
