Lunar Eclipse to Occur Sunday Night - Don't Miss It!
This Sunday night we will have a great chance to view a lunar eclipse. I have attached a couple of links that explain why this weekend's moon will be a great to view (if it is not cloudy) and that explain viewing times for our area.

Dance - Mrs. Brewington
7th Grade Dance Rotation: We began our choreography for the March performance. A costume is required for the performance that is unique. Speak with your child concerning details. The first glance at this costume will be February 4th for a grade. I'll inform the students if they need to make adjustments on that day. Ballet History Study Guide is to be completed by
Feb 1st. A test will be conducted on this material Feb 8th. BAKE SALE to assist with funding for the dance performance is January 31st. Please bring items. If you are able to volunteer to work the bake sale please email Mrs. Brewington.
7th dance focus: We are putting the finishing touches on the first dance for our March performance. We are well on our way to learning the second dance. Google sites 6th grade portion is due January 31st. A costume letter was sent home last week. Please sign and return. BAKE SALE to assist with funding for the dance performance is January 31st. ELA- Templeton
- The students are reading Hiroshima by John Hersey.
- We are identifying nonfiction text features. The are creating their own book on the 1940s, It is due January 31. We will have a gallery walk at that time.
- Stems test Thursday.
- The students will discuss and write an essay on climate and global warming.
Social Studies & ELA - Mrs. Owensby
7th Grade SS
Students will complete their study of WWI, create their study guide, and have the test.7th Grade ELA
Students will have their stems test. They will complete their book club on Wednesday. They will gather and organize information for their second argumentative/persuasive essay.
Social Studies - Mr. Creswell

The students will develop and use models to explain how the relevant structures within cells (including cytoplasm, cell membrane, cell wall, nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts, lysosomes, and vacuoles) function to support life of plant, animal, and bacterial cells. Their focus this week will be with cellular processes, diffusion and osmosis. There will be assignments on USA Test Prep and Study Island. They will also have a quiz on the Thursday.
Voice - Mrs. Fennell
Our seventh graders have been studying Antonio Vivaldi, a composer from the Baroque Period. We have also been singing Vivald's "Laudamus Te" in preparation for our spring concert. We will have a test on Thursday, reviewing simple meter rhythm. Please return letters about our trip to the Carolwinds Music Festival. Payment of $45 is due on January 31.
Math - Mr. Smith
We are continuing our work in chapter 8 and will have a unit test late next week.
