Earn an accolade for graduation for what you already know!
Does your child speak a language other than English?
If so, he or she may be eligible to earn the Seal Of Biliteracy!
What is the Seal of Biliteracy?
The Seal is an actual stamp that goes on a student’s diploma that indicates to Colleges and employers that the student has proficient skills in both English and another World Language. It makes students more marketable and opens up a variety of career opportunities.
Who is Eligible to go for the Seal?
Seniors who are enrolled in a Checkpoint C level world language class (Level 5 Spanish, French or German) OR Seniors who are proficient in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in English and another world language. Many Webster families speak languages other than English at home, such as Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Turkish or Arabic. All of those languages are eligible and more!
How Does my Child Earn the Seal?
There are many ways to earn the Seal, but if you are a student enrolled in a World Language course and doing well in that class, or if you grew up in a family that uses a world language at home, the Seal will most likely be easy for you to earn!
