Planner Perfection
Tips for using your itslearning Planner
Communication is key!
Help yourself, your students, and their parents by consistently posting your lesson plans each week in itslearning. Here are some tips for making the most of your planner.
Start and Stop Dates
When adding a new lesson to the planner, be sure to add an end date. The best way to do this is to click the button for Date. That will cause the Stop date to populate automatically AND will set that as your default when entering dates from now on.
Adding Resources
When you add a file to itslearning, be sure to do 3 things:
- Use the File or link option so that students can view without having to download (although that option is available).
- Only add Microsoft Office files or PDFs.
- Add them as a Resource to the lesson in the Planner so that students and parents can easily access them. Remember that parents only have access to the planner, not the tree.
Be specific!
Remember that the minimum is one lesson entry per week. This means that you can have lessons that stretch over multiple days. But be clear in your lesson and homework entries with what is happening each day so that students can check the planner to see what they missed when they miss a day.
Challenge Yourself!
Add online homework
Create a "test" in itslearning for students to complete as their homework! The variety of question types available means that you're not limited to only multiple choice or true/false questions. Be sure to link it in the planner as an Activity.
