Ryan MS Spring Registration
Information for Parents
Welcome Wolverine Families,
The faculty and staff place a strong emphasis on not only providing students with the tools needed to reach their full potential, but also on creating a safe, nurturing environment that encourages creativity and a desire to learn.
Many young adolescents experience emotional, social and cognitive changes that are extraordinarily unique to their age group. They require a stable and supportive school environment that focuses on developing an inquisitive mind, promotes optimistic relationships, builds positive self-esteem and teaches young adults how to become contributing members of a group and a community. Ryan Middle School is implementing research based, educationally relevant, best practices for young adolescents. We recognize that each student has distinctive developmental needs and at Ryan, we strive to implement a vision, philosophy and ultimately a learning environment specific to each student’s educational needs.
This year Ryan Middle School receives Title I funds. Title I provides supplemental federal funding to schools to support student learning. Funding is based on the percentage of students that qualify for free/reduced lunch. The additional funds help us to provide increased family involvement opportunities, additional professional development and supplemental academic support for our students.
It is important to get involved! We have sports, clubs and student leadership opportunities for students to get connected. It’s a fact that students who are involved in activities in school get better grades and have a reduced risk of dropping out.
Students, staff and parents all share in the responsibility of learning and we believe that it is best achieved when we all work together, communicate openly and each do our part in achieving the goals of education. We are privileged to serve Ryan Middle School students and look forward to an AMAZING year.
Go Wolverines!
Sincerely,
Heather

Welcome Class of 2029! Current 5th Grade Students
All 6th graders will be required to take: English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Integrated PE/Health, Advisory and Middle School Literature.
We have seen through our school data that our students are struggling in reading and providing them a yearlong reading class will prepare them for the future.
We do recognize that middle school is a time of exploration and 6th grade teachers will provide students with enrichment classes/activities through their advisory classes which meet daily.
However, if students currently play a musical instrument and want to continue playing they can choose to do that here at Ryan. If a student does not currently play a musical instrument they can choose Exploratory Music as an introduction to music. We will also offer students the ability to choose Choir as an option as well.
Please review the document below and have your child select ELP or music options for next year. If you would rather fill out the elective form online CLICK HERE.
