Student-Athletes of the Week
Tiana Ellis & Justin Sumner - Week of 6/10
Athletic Leadership
The "Matawan Regional High School Student-Athlete of the Week" program serves to recognize players who are stars both on and off the field. Student-athletes who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and perseverance in school and in the community can be nominated by coaches, athletic directors, and teachers for this honor.
The program will recognize not only the best athletes on each team, but also those who dedicate time to school , volunteer organizations, or have overcome a personal obstacle.
Congratulations to all of our student-athletes!

Tiana Ellis finished an outstanding track season competing in the 100, 200 and hurdles. Her sheer talent makes her a stand out competitor and has allowed her to become one of the top sprinters in Monmouth County. Most recently, she placed 4th in 100 and 3rd in the 200 at the Monmouth county champ. She also helped her team win gold in the 4X100 relay at the State Group 2 sectional meet with a blistering time of 49.7. Tiana is dedicated to track and field and works hard at practice. Her ability to motivate the team to improve their personal best is inspirational for all student-athletes.
