CCRA'S March Program 2016
Grammar Matters:Embedding Grammar Instruction Across the Day
Wednesday, March 16th Program Featuring Lynne Dorfman and Diane Dougherty - 4:30 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Chester County Intermediate Unit
Do you struggle to provide appropriate grammar instruction to your students within the context of writing workshop? This presentation will demonstrate strategies for teaching grammatical concepts in your writing classroom that champion correctness. A clear rationale for embedding grammar within units of study, and connections to the common core will be presented throughout the session. You will discover ways to introduce, practice, and reinforce the teaching of conventions. The presenters will include practical lessons for immediate classroom application. In addition, they will share multiple mentor text samples useful for teaching parts of speech and will highlight a few lessons using those lessons.
