Dear Howard Families,

Today our cafeteria was packed with our loving Grandparents. Thank you all for coming and spending the morning with your 1st or 3rd-grade grandchild. There is nothing better than a day with a grandparent or two!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

Hello! It's been another busy two weeks here at Howard Elementary. I have continued visiting classrooms and having lunch bunch with kids each and every day!


This month, in second grade, we read a story entitled "Bully B.E.A.N.S." The students learned the definition of bullying and the different ways to intervene if they see someone being unkind. Each student also received their own baggy of Bully B.E.A.N.S. to take home and try out for themselves.


In third grade, we also reviewed the definition of bullying as well as the four different types. The students then read different scenarios and had to decide if the situation was bullying or if it was not bullying. If they answered yes, they had to explain what they would do to help in the situation.


I will finish up the month visiting fourth through sixth-grade classrooms!

Textbook fees are now due. If you have not paid your child's fees, you may do so through the school office. If you need to make payment arrangements, please contact the Howard Elementary School Office at 459-0319. Checks should be made payable to Northwestern School Corporation.
