Glen Lake News for Staff
November 12-16, 2018
I came across this quote while reading the article: Inquiry in the Classroom - Never lose your Sense of Wonder? . As as I was reading it, our learning environments came to mind on multiple occasions. With our new reading curriculum offering so much opportunity with engaging, shared texts and student discussion, I believe that modeling inquiry helps our students feel comfortable to ask themselves questions that they are curious about and taking the initiative and risk to learn about those curiosities. Many of our ideas for "Reimagining Glen Lake" revolved around inquiry, curiosity, and real-world learning. When you get a chance, check out the "Wonder Wall" in Maria Williams' classroom. A great way to get students to take responsibility for the learning in the classroom.
What are other ways you are providing space for inquiry and curiosity?
