Troubleshooting Tips
Virtual Meetings
Some Buffett teachers have been scheduling virtual, live lessons in Microsoft TEAMS. We want to assure you this is a safe and private platform as it is an application used through OPS's partnership with Microsoft.
Some students have reported issues with their microphones or cameras. It's tough to troubleshoot those kinds of issues in our current situation, however these steps will help:
- ALWAYS use the desktop application rather than the online version of TEAMS
- Restart your laptop often
- If at first your camera or microphone doesn't work, leave the meeting and then rejoin.
- Check to see if you microphone or camera work in other applications so you can determine if it is a problem with TEAMS or your device.
- If you determine, the camera and microphone don't work in other application, email Brandon Spore for technical assistance.
Laptop Broken?
Please email Mr. Spore (brandon.spore@ops.org) if your child has a laptop that is unusable. Examples of unusable laptops are:
- entire screen is broken
- won't hold a charge or power on
- multiple keys on the keyboard are not functioning
Mr. Spore, Ms. Tolliver, or Mr. CK will then set up a time to switch out the laptop at Buffett.
From Our Library
This week, we have an Office Form that students can fill out that will let our librarians know what books they'd like to see added to Sora OverDrive. Simply click on the link, and fill out the questions. If you'd like a personalized response for a book suggestion, add your student e-mail to the bottom of the form. Then just click submit, and we will start getting more books into our digital collection. Here is the link: https://bit.ly/2VBjspA.
All students' books that were checked out prior to the closure of school have been renewed until the end of the school year. Students and parents should not worry about overdue books.
Students still have access to library materials through SORA (OverDrive). They can check out e-books or audiobooks for up to 2 weeks and read or listen to them online. To access SORA, go to our library's homepage https://buffett.ops.org/Programs/Library.aspx and click on the SORA icon. Your username is your student ID number; your password is your birthday in MMDDYY format (example: 041008).
Our library's homepage also has access to resources such as Britannica School and other databases which may help with class activities or general research. Please e-mail Mrs. Campbell at victoria.campbell@ops.org if you have questions, need help with passwords, or have concerns.
If you are a Twitter user, please follow @BuffettMagnet and @BuffettLibrary for updates.

Hello 6A families!
We miss you and hope that you are all doing well and staying healthy!
In these challenging times, we highly encourage students to keep up with their academics. Not only is it important to keep brains engaged and active, this is valuable information that students will need for next year! Additionally, the normality and routine is a comfort during times like these.
Please check emails at least daily, and be on the lookout for lessons and updates from teachers! We are continuing to work hard for all of you!
If you need assistance with anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of your teachers.... we are here for you!!
Be safe, be well!
Much love,
6A teachers
Hello 6B Bobcats,
As we head into week six of e-learning, your teachers want to make sure we connect with all of you! In fact, we are selecting two Students of Distinction every week. There are so many students that are doing amazing work! We want to celebrate that!
Here's what we might be looking for:
- A student who checks his or her school email frequently
- A student who completes the assigned work on time
- A student who reaches out to teachers and asks questions
- A student that goes to TEAMS and participates in discussions
- A student who double-checks the 6B homework page for the weekly lessons
- A student who can log into Infinite Campus to see what he or she is missing (missing work is due by May 1st)
- A student that stays connected to his or her 6B friends
Keep up the hard work, Bobcats! We miss you all!

We are impressed with your resilience adapting to the new norm. The best way to keep yourselves in the loop is through
- OneNote
- Infinite Campus.
We miss you! Feel free to reach out to any of us at any time!
7B Students and Families,
We hope you and your family are doing well. We've heard from many of you, but if you haven't reached out to us, please email one of us to let us know how you're doing. We miss seeing your faces and talking to you. Thanks for being patient with us as we maneuver to remote teaching.
These are some reminders for you and your family:
- Please check your email and teams for assignments.
- Please check the Buffett webpage under the 7B homework tab for detailed directions on the weekly assignments.
- Please check your email several times a day for any updates from us.
- Shut down your computer every day to allow for updates.
- Another suggestion to help with updates is to go to start (bottom left hand corner), click on settings (it looks a little like a wheel), click on "update and security", and then click on "check online for updates from Microsoft Update."-this should be done if shutting down your laptop didn't work for syncing with your One Note or Teams.
- Teachers will use infinite campus to record it work is turned in or missing.

How much do we miss you? Mrs. Brandt and Davis send their love to you all! Ms. Moyer misses you more than her Starbucks coffee and Charlie Brown lights in the classroom. You can reach out to your teachers with any questions; we love hearing from you!
Please continue to work on your assignments. Use the platform set up by your teacher, whether it is on Teams, OneNote or email. Don't forget that if you have any 3rd Quarter work to complete, you need to have it in by next Friday. Contact your teachers for further instructions.
