PBIS Updates
- PBIS Rewards will be raffling off a McDonalds Shamrock Shake during all lunches on B days in March.

Women's Empowerment Week '23
Thank you to everyone who helped make Women's Empowerment Week successful- our fabulous speakers, staff and senior interns, Mikayla Lee and Brooke Williams!
Gateway Aviation Recognition
We honored our Aviation Club this week with a lunch viewing of the NJEA Classroom Closeup video expertly done by The Trade Revolution producers, Kevin and Deb Ronan.
Kevin was kind enough to make the trip and celebrate with us today. When he produced the episode, he allowed our video production students to shadow and assist him! Pilots Ira Weissman and Mark Duncan also joined in and spent time with our student aviators.
We are fortunate to have the support of not only the school but the outside community too, as we grow this great program with an awesome teacher, Deb Broadbelt, in the cockpit steering the plane.

College and Career Readiness
Do you have big plans after graduation? We want to hear about your acceptance: College or University, Trade or Career Program, or Armed Forces of the United States. Please email Dr. Pierro with your acceptance letter. We would like to give you the recognition you deserve in the newsletter and morning announcements!
Student Story: Colleges Are Removing SAT Requirements Opening Doors For Many Students
March 10, 2023
By: Natalie Tursi, Gateway Regional High School
WOODBURY HEIGHTS, N.J. — The worldwide pandemic left a lot of 2020-21 high school graduates unable to take the SAT test or the ACT test required to be put on their college applications. Without the ability to take the test, and with no scores, the class of 2020 left an empty space on their applications where it was asked to write them in.
In response to the situation, many colleges and universities decided to remove the SAT score requirement from their applications altogether, some permanently and some temporarily. Now, students can choose whether or not they would like to send their scores to colleges, or strike them completely.

Winter Sports and Spectators
The winter sports seasons are underway. While we appreciate that there are students who want to show support for their classmates on the athletic teams, we do not have supervision for students after school. Those students who would like to attend a sporting event as a spectator may return to school 20 minutes prior to the start of the event. We appreciate your cooperation and support.
