Below is a link to our annual parent survey. Every year we survey parents as part of our school wide Title plan to seek input that helps us guide our instructional decisions and plan for future student learning. So that we can better plan student transportation needs and routes/schedules for the 2022—2023 school year, we have implemented an online Student Transportation Input Form at www.sno.wednet.edu/ridethebus. Between now and through early summer, we are asking all parents/guardians of 2022-2023 students to please complete this form. The form only needs to be completed once per student.

Next year Connie Hellmund will be moving to Cathcart Elementary to provide MLL instruction and complete her student teaching. While we are sad to say good-bye, we are really excited for all her future opportunities. Connie has been an amazing part of the Central-Emerson community and we have been very fortunate to have her on staff. She has been an incredible support to students, staff and our office and for that we say a big THANK YOU.

Next year Esther Bak and Juanita Alejandro will be our MLL teachers. You may recognize Mrs. Bak’s name from Emerson and Mrs. Alejandro from our ECEAP program. Both of these people are bilingual and are excited to support our students.

Online registration is now available for next school year at the Snohomish School District website. If you have a student that will be new to Central Primary Center in the fall, Kindergarten thru Grade 2 please register them now. This helps us plan our staffing for the 2022-2023 school year. You can register online at www.sno.wednet.edu/newstudentenrollment or stop by the school office to pick up a paper registration packet.

It is important to make sure your child goes to their regularly scheduled wellness appointments, which often include immunizations. The summer months are a great time to get your child caught up with immunization requirements before the 2022-2023 school year. Schedule your appointments early, as health care providers’ schedules quickly fill up in August and September. Make sure to turn in your updated immunization paperwork to the school by Wednesday, September 7.

This reminder is especially important if your child is transitioning to preschool, kindergarten, or 7h grade, as each of these grades has additional immunization requirements.

Every student enrolled/registered in school or childcare in the state of Washington must have medically verified up-to-date immunization records on file with the school in which they are enrolled/registering before the first day of school 2022-2023. Medically verified immunization records include one or more of the following:

• A Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) printed from the Immunization Information System (IIS)
• A physical copy of the CIS form with a healthcare provider signature
• A physical copy of the CIS form with accompanying medical immunization records from a healthcare provider verified and signed by school staff
• A CIS printed from MyIR

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is offering eligible households high speed internet (100Mbps download) for $30 a month with no additional out of pocket costs.

There are three ways families can qualify:

• Income of 200% or less than the federal poverty guidelines
• Program participation (such as Free Reduced Lunch Program eligible, or SNAP, etc.), or
• Meets the eligibility criteria for a participating broadband provider’s existing low-income internet program

What families need to know about this new ACP opportunity:

FAQs

If I am approved for ACP and currently on an internet service plan with a provider, can I switch to a different internet service plan of that provider, including to that provider’s low-cost plan, and receive the ACP benefit?

• Yes. The ACP benefit can be applied to any internet service offering, and providers cannot restrict you from switching service offerings or subject you to mandatory waiting periods. Sometimes providers prohibit existing customers from switching to low-cost internet service plans; however, consumers receiving the ACP benefit are not subject to these “existing customer” restrictions.

What happens if my provider has eligibility requirements for an internet service plan that conflict with ACP rules? (e.g. My provider requires that I pay off my past debts before signing up for XYZ internet service plan)

• ACP rules override the rules of participating providers in the context of an ACP consumer. For instance, a provider may generally require that consumers pay off past or present debts before signing up for XYZ internet service plan. However, consumers who are approved to receive ACP benefits are not subject to that requirement (since the ACP rules prohibit providers from declining to enroll ACP consumers based on past or present debts).

Note: The ACP rules clearly allow ACP consumers to apply their benefit to any internet service offering that is generally available (i.e. not a grandfathered/legacy plan) and prohibit mandatory waiting periods (47 CFR 54.1808(e)(6)(iii)) and restrictions on switching plans (Para. 166 of the Report and Order).

If a student is going to be absent or tardy from school, the parent needs to call the school’s absentee message line, 360-563-4602, or email cpc-attendance@sno.wednet.edu, before 8:15 a.m. in the morning. Messages may be left on this message line at any time night or day. If we have not heard from you, we will attempt to call you to verify your student’s safety. For safety reasons, no student may leave the school campus during the school day without being signed out in person by his/her guardian or a designated adult.

According to Snohomish School District policy, absences due to illness or a health condition; a religious observance when requested by the student’s parents; a school approved activity; a family emergency; a school disciplinary action or short-term suspension as required by state law, are excused.

If your child has a birthday or you wish to bring a special treat for the class, please check with your child's teacher ahead of time and be sure to stay within the guidelines set by the Snohomish School District. Some suggestions would be Rice Krispies Treats, Little Debbie's Cakes, Fruit Snacks or Gold Fish cracker packets that are individually wrapped.
