Hudson Hawk Band Updates

January 5-8

We hope you all had a nice holiday with your families and enjoyed the down time. We are excited to be back at school this week and see our students again. Please do not forget to send your student to school with their instrument and band binder (Tuesday is a B day) EVERY DAY they have band class. Additionally, all Face-to-Face students MUST have their band mask and bell cover EVERY TIME they play their instruments. This is critical for all of our health and safety!

This semester brings competitions such as Solo & Ensemble, UIL, and hopefully a spring festival of some sort. We will have a lot to work on and hope to perform for you all in person in May. We promise to share all details for the semester as we work through them and know that even the best laid plans may change!

If your student is in the Varsity (Wind Symphony) or Non-Varsity (Honors Band) and is a virtual student, please be on the lookout this week for an important email about the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation.

School-Owned Instrument Usage Fees

The $50 per year ($25/semester) fee charged by GISD for students who use a school-owned instrument (oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, tenor sax, bari sax, French horn, euphonium, and tuba) has now been assessed to your student's Skyward account. The payment for the use of the school instrument is due by March 1, but can be paid online anytime now. You can use a credit card in Skyward or send cash/check (made out to Hudson Middle School) with your student to school. Further details about how to pay online will be sent soon for those who need extra help completing their payment.

**Occasionally, we have students that play other instruments, not listed above, who use a school-owned instrument. The fee has been assessed to those students as well.**
