Did you know Dr. Seuss wrote The Cat in the Hat using just 236 words? The Cat in the Hat writing contest challenges you to compose an original story using ONLY the words that appear in Dr. Seuss' book. Entries will be judged based on the number of words you use from the list and the overall quality of the story. You may use each word as many times as you wish but you should use only the words on the list! The story should have a beginning, a middle and an end, be typed or printed neatly and include your full name and your teacher's name on the first page. Click here for the list of words, go to www.seussville.com/CITH_50th/pdfs/tr_allactivities.pdf to print your own list, or stop by the Media Center to pick up the information packet beginning Monday, March 2nd. Entries are due to Mrs. Konouck in the Media Center by 2:30 PM on Monday, March 9th. Winners will be announced after Friday, March 13th. Good luck!
