Principal's Message

Tēnā koutou,

We have thoroughy enjoyed seeing the sunshine this week - what a difference it makes!

Thank you to Stephanie Barr and the team for creating such a fun and inclusive Cross Country event yesterday. Our values of Community, Challenge and Courage were out in full force; it was heartwarming to see our students cheering, encouraging and supporting each other around the course. I loved the addition of the non-competitive option and hearing the many students (and parents) setting themselves a goal of how many laps they’d like to complete. Congratulations to all of those competitive racers who placed; they’ll be looking forward to attending the Inter School Competition in a few weeks.

The school was looking a lot brighter today for our annual Daffodil Day Dress Up. The Student Council did a great job of organising this event to fundraise for The Cancer Society; an organisation so dear to my heart and the hearts of many. Thank you Ms Silcock for supporting our Student Council with this event.

We’re looking forward to meeting with all our whānau next week to discuss the progress and achievement of our tamariki. If you haven’t already, please book in your Whānau Learning Conversation via the school interviews website.

Yesterday afternoon, the educational community of Cambridge and the NZEI acknowledged the dedication and long service that Stephanie Barr (25 years) and Lois Maclennan (20 years) have contributed within education, making a significant difference in children’s lives. Thank you for all that you do for our children; you are a huge asset to our school and education.

Kia pai ō rā whakatā (Have a great weekend)
