E. Rivers wins 1st place at the HRRB Regional competition!
The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl teams wins first place at the Regional competition at Clayton State University, Saturday, February 10th! We are so proud of our 2018 HRRB team! As Dr. Waller says, "You guys are GOOD!"

Warm Up to a Good Book
January I asked kids to read a book, write a short review and get a hot chocolate for "Warm Up to a Good Book" month. This was a smashing success! I ran out of cups or hot chocolate regularly. Thanks to Ashley who sent in marshmallows!
Black History Month
We have a display of books in the media center for check out. We are also playing Black History Bingo. Read 4 biographies in a row, enter your sheet into the box in the media center, sheets will be pulled on the daily news for prizes. Keep Reading!

Students had a great time at the Principal's Luncheon this past Thursday and the next day those who reached AR Party status partied in the media center! Students at E. STEM comes to E. Rivers via AFPL
Christina Rand, from the Atlanta Fulton Public Library, came to E. Rivers and brought a bunch of fun stuff for our students to experience. She brought a Rig-a-ma-Jig (building materials), several code-a-pillars, Makey-Makey (where you play games on grapes and clay as a conductor), Connects, etc. It was a fun filled day!
