Six EHS athletes commit to college programs
Elizabeth High School had six student-athletes put pen to paper at a ceremony in the EHS gym last Friday for National Signing Day. Signing their letters of intent to play college sports on scholarships were:
Softball
- Abby Hayes - Northeastern Junior College (Sterling, Colo.).
- Kaelie Johnson - Indiana Tech University (Fort Wayne, Ind.).
- Abby Schleisman - Central Christian College (McPherson, Kan.).
Football
- Jayden Lawrence - Hastings College (Hastings, Neb.).
- Colton Foegen - Sterling College (Sterling, Kan.).
Baseball
- Tristan Walker - Dakota Wesleyan University (Mitchell, S.D.).

Poms team gains attention in 4A; ignites spirit among nearly 80 younger girls
Counselor Nominated for National Award
Running Creek Elementary School counselor Kelly Tarr has been nominated for the 2021-22 National LifeChanger of the Year award. Especially during National School Counseling Week, members of the community are encouraged to boost her nomination by commenting on her individual profile.
Kindergarten Roundup Helpers
Fourth and fifth graders at Running Creek Elementary were in charge of showing families around the building for Kindergarten Roundup on Jan. 26. The student leaders not only gave tours but also helped families meet kindergarten teachers in their classrooms.
Hot-selling Hot Chocolate
Leader In Me students in Running Creek Elementary School's fourth grade had some help in their efforts to raise money for trees and plants in front of the school. The snowy weather on Jan. 25 made their hot chocolate extra popular. They expected to sell 6-10 cups and instead sold 50 before running out of ingredients.
