A Note from Ms. Moulton
A big thank you to the PTO and all of the families who came out for the first PTO meeting on Tuesday and the Family Picnic on Wednesday. What a wonderful event! It was nice to see so many families talking and playing with one another and showing our students what it means to be a member of a community.
I hope to see many of you again later this week for the Hosmer Open House. Detailed information is below. See you on Thursday!
Your principal,
Ms. Moulton

What Did the Husky See?
Hey Hosmer Huskies! It’s the Husky here, reporting from my very first week at The Hosmer School in classroom 212. I have great hearing and overheard students in Ms. Doherty and Mrs. Wandicho’s questioning if I was real. When I heard this sad news, I asked Ms. Moulton if I could spend the week with these kids to make them believers! When I trotted into 212, I met 20 students, two teachers, and my new friend animal friend, B.F.F., (Bubbles Fin Fish).
The week was busy with lots of fun projects for me to join in on! On Tuesday, I partnered with two students for the Index Card Challenge. Each pair of kids had to work cooperatively together to build a free-standing structure. I liked hearing all the different ideas and designs the kids were thinking of creating. My two friends had a great idea to make a little house in which I could comfortably hang in. I wanted to nap since I was feeling sleepy with all the amazing learning going on around me.
For science class, we learned about the parts of the plant and what their function/job is. To better understand plants, we visited the Hosmer garden. WHOA! This garden is blooming with all sorts of vegetables and plants. I loved eating the raspberries and pulling small plants from the ground to find their roots. Did you know that the roots of a plant act like straws to carry water and minerals to the rest of the plant? One nice student placed a beautiful flower on my head, and I liked that.
In Math, we learned all about place value, and we worked with numbers all the way up to the 10,000 place! I liked it when the teachers’ used this really cool smartboard to show the values of numbers in a place value chart! I had a hard time seeing the board, but thankfully, those 4th graders got creative and put me on their shoulders so I could see better.
HOWL! On Friday, we went down to Mrs. Massa’s room and met our buddies! I am so excited because Ms. Doherty and Mrs. Wandicho’s class decided to hand me off to Ms. Massa’s first grade class for this upcoming week! I can’t wait to see all the amazing things they do in 1st grade! My amazing time in the fourth grade went by so fast. I hope to see all my new friends from room 212 around the building sometime soon.
