TRANSFER WINDOW OPEN MARCH 2nd- APRIL 30
The transfer window for certified and paraprofessional employees is open from March 2 - April 30, 2020.
The transfer process allows employees to request a transfer from one location to another within the same category of position. Examples include requests to move from teacher to teacher positions, teacher assistant to teacher assistant, librarian to librarian, counselor to counselor, and assistant principal to assistant principal.
Transfer requests will be completed electronically using Frontline Recruiting & Hiring. Transfer requests may be submitted by completing an online internal application via the Frontline Recruiting & Hiring System.
Please remember that requesting a transfer does not guarantee an interview or transfer. Principals will schedule interviews with those individuals requesting a transfer who best meet the needs of their campuses.
Employees must have served three years at their current campus prior to initiating a transfer request. Paraprofessional employees must serve a minimum of 90 days at their current campus prior to initiating a transfer request.
All principals will have access to the complete transfer list to view employees requesting a transfer for the 2020-2021 school year. Employees are strongly encouraged to notify their current principal before applying for a transfer, as all principals can view all employees who have submitted a transfer request in the Frontline Recruiting & Hiring System.
If you have any questions, please contact Martha Werner, Executive Director of Human Resource Services (Elementary), at x34210 or Deedra Davis, Director of Staffing & Employee Relations (Secondary), at x34690.
Klein ISD Health Update
Klein ISD follows the guidance and expertise of national and local health officials to help protect our students and staff from all communicable diseases. The District is aware that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus.
While we continue to work closely with local and federal health authorities, as of Feb. 26, 2020, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Harris County and no additional precautions have been advised for Klein ISD at this time.
State medical experts indicate that the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID -19 are the same recommendations for preventing the spread of the flu.
Families may visit the CDC website for more information regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Should you have any further questions, please contact the nurse on your child’s campus or visit kleinisd.net/health.

Exchange Day clarification for 2020-2021
According to Human Resources, teachers and specialists are the only district staff on a contract that can participate in Exchange Days. If other campus staff (i.e. counselors, administrators, LSSPs, Diags, etc.) want to not work on Exchange Days, they need to take a personal day.
Reminder: Paraprofessionals do not participate in Exchange Days as their contract days allow them the day off. 184 Duty Day Educational Assistants do not participate in Exchange Days. Their duty calendar does not have them scheduled to work on Monday, February 17, 2020. Since it is not a duty day for them, no paperwork or documentation is required.
