What a great week at MAST! We celebrated National School Choice Week and to finalize the week, we were notified that our school was the receipient of the 2022 Magnet Schools of America National School of Excellence Award. Magnet School of Excellence Awards are only given to a select group of magnet schools in the nation. Schools of Excellence are eligible to receive monetary awards and are eligible to be named the nation’s top Elementary, Secondary, or New & Emerging Magnet School.

To receive a national merit award, McKissick had to submit a detailed application that is scored by a panel of educators. The schools and data are judged and scored on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.

This is an amazing accomplishment by our students, teachers, and families! We are so honored and proud of our culture of intentional excellence! Thank you for your partnership! We are going to celebrate BIG!

Magnet School Email and Applications

The School District of Pickens County will begin sending out magnet information and applications for next school year. However, this is only for "new" magnet students that are not currently here and enrolled at McKissick. There is no need to apply again once accepted. However, in the spring we will send out confirmation forms for our current students. We are so thankful for you! All Applications are due February 17th
