Update From THIS I.F.
Welcome December!
Crazy Enough?
I truly believe these words and feel this is "THE GIFT" of being an educator. Seeing potential in all people, situations and "things" helps us to be on the edge of "crazy."
I do know I may not really change the world but I do not see limits in our students OR in YOU. Sometimes when I am really driving you the craziest--pushing you and pushing you--it is because I know you can.
I know some of you have this attitude.----never giving up on TES and the students here--giving them a push and then another and then another...
NO LIMITS may seem crazy but I think that is the place I want to live my life. Want to join me?
Put on Your Calendar
Emily and Lindsey will be presenting engagement strategies for your classroom on Tuesday, December 5th after school Please plan to attend. It will begin 3:30 and last about an hour. You will receive CEU credit in literacy--PLUS you will gain some amazing ways to add movement into your classroom and boost engagement of students.
Please look at future PD Ideas for TES. List any other topics you are interested in OR PD you are willing to give. We have a lot of people interested in phonics., decoding multi-syllabic word strategies--anyone interested in sharing?/
MOY Testing
This is a short testing window. I need you to sign up for one day as early as you feel comfortable. Only two grade levels at a time please so we can make sure we have coverage. I need you to sign up by December 1st at the end of the day. I will generate the coverage schedule as quickly as possible. If there are any dates you will be out of the building for trips or activities--please add it to the calendar so I can schedule around these dates.

Curriculum WOWs in the Building...
- 4th and 5th grade letting students DO THE WORK. I went by several times where students were working on a reading task to bring back to whole group--love that students are making mistakes and showing learning BEFORE you instruct. AWESOME!
- 3rd Grade PLC--such a great discussion of student progress and learning. I appreciate your problem solving and rearranging to ensure all students are learning in the best place for them! Be sure to change intervention groups as students are growing or NOT!
- Kindergarten finished KEA! Thanks LeAnne for showing your expertise to us and helping everyone get this accomplished! Thank you!
- Emily and Jessica--WOW Planning for your absence! You were VERY missed but WOW your plans were amazing! Careful and thorough is the difference between adequate and great growth. Thank you!
- Mrs. Watts thank you for all you do to help get interventions in each day. Teachers remember when a report is given --put these in the purple folder for documentation of interventions.
- 2nd grade collaboration with Amy Dawson to bring tech learning opportunities to their kids! AWESOME!

TES Goals--Plan with these in mind!
- Increase student to student interaction in conversation, summarizing, and discussion of content
- Vocabulary through student talk and rigor of text
- Complexity of Text
- Increase questioning of deep comprehension with all reading groups at each level. Do not wait for a student to be reading on a level for them to answer questions on that level orally.
- Application of phonics to multi-syllabic words in 2-5 and strong emphasis and mastery in K-1
- Growth Mindset and STAMINA
