Estimadas familias de James John,
Fue fantástico ver a muchos de ustedes en nuestra Noche de Regreso a Clases. Tuvimos un total de 370 miembros de la comunidad que visitaron… ¡INCREÍBLE! También disfruté hablar con familias fuera del horario escolar y conocer mejor nuestra comunidad. Aunque estuve aquí el año pasado y he vivido en el vecindario durante 20 años, fue maravilloso simplemente conversar y conocer un lado diferente de nuestros estudiantes y sus familias. ¡Los abrazos y los choques de manos eran fantásticos!
Intenté subir fotos de nuestro evento y no tuve éxito... tal vez sea hora de comprar un teléfono o cámara nuevo. Intentaré agregar más fotos la próxima semana 🙁.
También quería mencionarle a la comunidad que necesitamos voluntarios para ayudar con los eventos y ayudar en nuestros cruces peatonales apoyando a nuestra Patrulla de Seguridad de la mañana y la tarde. Mi esperanza es que nuestra Patrulla de Seguridad esté operativa el miércoles 20 de septiembre. Si está interesado, visite nuestra oficina principal e inscríbase o puede completar nuestro formulario electrónico justo debajo del calendario de la próxima semana.
Durante la Noche de Regreso a Clases, los miembros de la comunidad me preguntaron sobre nuestro Grupo de Afinidad de Black Excellence, nuestro Social Hora de Café y Consejo Escolar. Tenga en cuenta que estoy trabajando para organizar todas nuestras reuniones. Me comunicaré directamente con los miembros de nuestra comunidad que ayudan a organizar nuestros grupos a partir de la próxima semana. Me gustaría empezar en octubre. Gracias por su paciencia.
Qué gran primera semana completa de clases y familias, recuerden que si llegan tarde o recogen temprano de la escuela, les pedimos que se registren en la oficina principal.

Dear James John Families,
It was great seeing many of you at our Back to School Night. We had a total of 370 community members attend…AMAZING! I also enjoyed talking to families outside of the school day and getting to know our community better. While I was here last year and have lived in the neighborhood for 20 years, it was wonderful just chatting and getting to know a different side of our students and your families. The hugs and high fives were on fire!
I tried to upload pictures of our event and was not successful…it might be time to get a new phone. I will try to add more pictures next week 🙁.
I wanted to also mention to the community that we are in need of volunteers to help with events and helping at our crosswalks supporting our morning and afternoon Safety Patrol. My hope is to get our Safety Patrol up and running Wednesday, Sept. 20th. If you are interested, please drop by our main office and sign up or you can fill out our electronic form just below next week's calendar.
During Back to School Night, community members asked me about our Black Excellence Affinity Group, our Hora de Cafe Social and Site Council. Please know that I am working on getting all our gatherings organized. I will be reaching out directly to our community members that help organize our groups starting next week. I would like to get started in October. Thank you for your patience as I get my feet under me.
