A Message From Mrs. Pass
I realized just this weekend how unsettled my kids were feeling, even if they couldn't tell me that in so many words. It's important to remember that while change may seem exciting to us, the upset of the routine and the norm for kids can be very difficult and can manifest in different ways that we may not automatically recognize as stress from change. Kids are ready to learn and grow socially, emotionally and academically when they feel the security of feeling settled. We all experience change in our lives, so as educators, we need to know how to help children adapt to change. If you need specific strategies to help students, dealing with change, feel free to reach out Mrs. Neace and Mrs. Baird them anytime!
Here are a few other resources on ways to reduce and deal with stress in the classroom!

Safe and Crisis Management
Teachers:
I wanted to send a reminder about our teachers who are certified to perform Safe and Crisis Management, or “SCM” for students who may require prevention, de-escalation, and possibly emergency or physical intervention if they are a threat to harm others or themselves.
The following teachers have received the SCM training and are qualified to restrain a student:
Jonathan Stefanopoulos, Nicole Baker, Tina Klette, Julia Holland, Terina Plunkett, Jennifer Goodenough, Kathlyn Lokey, Jessica Pass, Megan Scott, Jean Armstrong, and David Stefanopoulos.
Again, if a student becomes aggressive and is a threat to harm others or themselves please call the front office or walkie an admin. for support. Please see Mr. S if you have any questions.
Boone County Schools
2020 Superintendent Search Survey Questions
The intent of this survey is to gather input from the community concerning qualities and attributes of Boone County Schools’ Superintendent candidates. In this very important quest for the Boone County Board of Education, the members would like to hear from various stakeholders concerning the candidate criteria to be considered.
If you would like to participate in the survey, simply fill in the attached survey and drop off at your school, the front reception desk at the District Office or mail to Boone County Board of Education, 8330 US 42, Florence, KY 41042. You may also complete the online survey accessible via the following link https://tinyurl.com/bcssuperintendentsurvey by January 29th, 2020 at 4:00pm.
Spanish, French, and Arabic survey translation forms are also available at each school. You may return the completed survey to your school or the district office.
The Board of Education members for The Boone County School District looks forward to responses from our community, parents, guardians, and students.

District Walk-Throughs
The Learning Support Services team at the district level is going to be completing walk-throughs at each school so they can determine how to better support our schools and students, and so they can gain perspective on the teaching and learning in our classrooms. Erpenbeck is on the schedule for January 28th, 29th and 30th. The schedule is below! They will be using the Eleot walk-through tool in each of the schools, which has some things that are very similar to our walk-through tool. I have attached the tool for you to see ahead of time. I can't wait for them to see the great things going on in your classrooms!
