Violent Protests To Free The People
Thesis Statment
Summary
In both texts, “Harrison Bergeron” and “The Most Dangerous Game” Show how at times government can make unjust and over powered decisions for the people without vote. In “The Most Dangerous Game”, the general decides, with no counsel, that he has the right to hunt people, and even goes as far as to lure them to his island with cruel tricks. In "Harrison Bergeron" the government held crazy control of the citizens. Forcing them to wear 'handicaps' to make them all the same. One man rebelled against this, and was greatly feared. Though he ended up dead for his actions.
General Zaroff
Harrison
Harrison was the only person to rebel against the government and their handicap rules. He wanted to form an empire and destroy what the government had done, but ended up being shot after violently breaking into a ballet show and causing fear and panic.

Quotes
Quote one:
" 'Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if needs be, taken by the strong. The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure. I am strong. Why should I not use my gift? If I wish to hunt, why should I not? I hunt the scum of the earth: sailors from tramp ships--lassars, blacks, Chinese, whites, mongrels--a thoroughbred horse or hound is worth more than a score of them.'," (Connell 8). General Zaroff is trying to justify his actions with his own views. Giving no leeway for the people suffering. The victims of his 'governing' only have one choice, if they want to survive, and that's to use violence to rebel.
Quote two:
"THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren't only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was betterlooking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General," (Vonnegut Jr. 1).
The government decided on their own that this would be best for the people. Though they couldn't have a say in what happened, they had to deal with the consequences. They as well have no way to protest the systems put in place. But due to the handicaps they cant think enough to have a peaceful protest.
Conclusion
In summary, the people should use whatever means they need to gain a say in their government.
I feel that Trump should not be allowed to run, due to the remarks and statements he has made. And his plans for America seem very vague and false to me.
