Quick Reminders
- If you are scheduled to have an ARC during the day and you need your class covered; please find the person to cover your class. You can contact Caleb, Sarah, Barbara, or Beth as possible individuals to cover.
- Over the next few weeks, each PLC grade level team will be examining the Essential Standards that you created over the last 2 years. As you examine them, please note any that need to be removed and also note any learnings (skills) that may or may not be part of the standards that you feel are Essential to your grade level team.
- So Far this year we have recognized over 500 students for their outstanding work. Just a few reminders regarding Purple Cards:
-Send the student to the office to turn in their note. Sarah or I may not be there, but Amber and Linda do a great job of congratulating them
-Send them the day of if possible. I know sometimes great things happen after 2, but outside of 2:00 - 2:20 send students to the office the day of students who have earned the cards.
-Put last names on the purple cards. It just makes it easier for recording the names

Cage Busting
The author believes to provide the best for students in a day/time when student need and teacher accountability are at an all time high, while funding and parent involvement are at all time lows that we must bust cages.
Most of you realize that I love thinking outside of the cage (box). Even though I love it, it isn't easy. Many times, I let invisible cages impact my decisions. My inability to see past the "usual" way we do things hinders my ability to make Good initiatives Great.
As we leap into 2017, I want to ask you.....Do you have some Cage Busting to do? Do past experiences, culture, or traditions stop you from doing the best for your students? How can we help bust those cages? Our vision is to provide the Best Instruction, Environment, and Opportunities for our students. To do this, WE HAVE TO BUST CAGES.
I look forward to busting cages with you this year!
