The Main and other parts of the body in the digestive system and where is it located

Other parts of the body in the digestive system are the Liver, Gallbladder,Pancreas,Salivary Glands, Pharynx, and the rectum. The system is located from the mouth down to the esophagus then to the stomach then to the small and large intestines and then finally the rectum.


The main function of the digestive system is storing the food. It take the food our body doesn't need and lets it out of the body. It takes the food our body does need and keeps it in the stomach.
The Digestive System works well with the Circulatory System to get the nutrients out all over the body.

1. We make 1 to 3 pints of saliva a day.

2. It takes your mouth,esophagus,stomach,small intestine,large intestine,gallbladder, pancreas, and liver just to digest a glass of milk.

3.The average male will eat about 50 tons of food during his lifetime.

4.The liver is the largest organ in the body and performs more than 500 functions.

5.Food stays in your stomach for 2 to 3 hours.
