Johannes Kepler
By: Megan Wooten
"Kepler's planetary motion revolution"
What did he do?
In the early 1600s he discovered and demonstrated that the Earth orbits the Sun. He also revealed planet paths are not perfect circles.
3 Laws of Planetary Motion
(Kepler's Laws)
1st Law
Planets travel on elliptical paths
2nd Law
Invisible line connecting sun to a planet covered on equal amount of area over the same amount of time
3rd Law
The time planets take to orbit the sun is connected to their distance from the sun
How do we use that discovery today?
-It marked a key step in the revolution of science.
-Astrobiologist and Astrinimers use this in their studies.
Other Facts about him
