Educator Spotlight!

Congratulations Ms. Flavia Soares! You are in the Social Studies @ LEISD Educator Spotlight this week!

Ms. Soares teaches World Cultures at Powell 6th Grade Center. She is a first year teacher who did her student teaching at Lakeside Middle School last year under Mr. Daryl Butler. She said this experience gave her a strong foundation for her first year on her own.

Formative Assessments that Work!

It is easy to get locked into your normal routine and lose sight of the importance of formative assessment and how easy it can be to integrate into your daily lessons. Please see the documents below for many different ways to assess understanding during and after lessons and activities.

EASY WAYS TO DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION!

The answer to the question: What will I do DIFFERENTLY for students who do not learn this the first time or need extra support? is NOT "reteach". The key to differentiation is to offer multiple ways for students to learn the same content at the same level of rigor with varied types of support (scaffolding).
