Each Court of appeal covers a particular geographic area called a circuit

Have both original jurisdiction and appellate jursidiction

US Supreme Court

Supreme court have 9 justices (judges)

Each justice is selected by the president and approved by the senate

Highest Court in the federal system

Judges serve for a life term or until they want to stop
