Susan Wojcicki

Before becoming video and entertainment platform YouTube's CEO, Wojcicki joined the Google team in 1999 as their first marketing manager. At Google, she was greatly admired for her work ethic. Wojcicki was essential to Google's extreme growth. In February of 2014, she took the reins of YouTube. Fortune says, "Now, many expect Wojcicki, who took the helm of Google's YouTube division in February, to rev up the troops there" (link).


Born to Esther, an educator, and Stanley Wojcicki, a physics professor at Stanford University, Susan spent most of her life on the college campus. Becuase of her intelligence, she attended Harvard University and graduated with honors.


Wojcicki possess many leadership qualities, such as: confidence, responsibility, loyalty, respect, and optimism. She has been respected at and loyal to Google since the begining, she has confidence that her responsibility will move YouTube forward, and she is optimistic about YouTube's future. Wojcicki learned these qualities from her parents and from educators and professionals on the Stanford University campus. Confidence and optimism are very important to her career because she needs to have confidence in her employees and in herself, and she needs to be optimistic about the company's future. All leaders need to exhibit these traits, but Wojcicki executes all of them.
