PLC Newsletter

Kilgore Intermediate School, Week of January 11-15

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do."

For the data meetings this week you will need to bring the following information with you:

  1. Star Ren Universal Screener results (including the charts and sticky notes which you have already received)...We will complete this task during our PLC time.
  2. Student Information Spreadsheet (Please have this completed and ready to turn in to me. Get with your partners and make sure everyone has done their part.)
  3. 2016 Goals
****Remember to use the "1 minute paper" high yield instructional strategy prior to meeting so we may debrief on it.

Important Reminder

For planning meetings, please review the following lead4ward documents for the specific TEKS we will be teaching prior to planning:

  1. Field Guide
  2. Scaffold
  3. Academic Vocabulary
  4. Released Tests

I try to make you a "cheat sheet" with just the information you need from these documents and put it in your boxes ahead of time. In addition, I try to email you an Instructional Focus Document with information from the TEKS Resource System resources for the TEKS you will be teaching. In most cases, this document is too large to print.

It is crucial that we study and KNOW our TEKS and that our instruction is aligned to the TEKS. Please do not assume that you know...READ the information!!!

***Come to our PLC meeting prepared to share lessons and ideas that are aligned to the TEKS we will be teaching.***
