Dr. Boryszewski's Message

Dear School District 81 Learning Community,

We've had an exciting fall season so far in District 81! Our preschool and PATS programs are settled into the Early Childhood center and everyone is enjoying their new space! Thank you again to parents and neighbors for your patience during construction. Construction continues as we move through the phases of the project. Our Kennedy families will continue to receive updates from Principal Kartsimas.

Today I visited with Washington students and their families at the Family Picnic. It was the perfect day to spend with family and friends. Washington School definitely knows how to put on a show and the Ellis Island simulation was no exception! I was very impressed by how the teachers and students brought the immigration experience to life.

I'm fortunate to be part of an outstanding mentoring program called INSPIRE at Lincoln Middle School. Our first group meeting was yesterday and I was thrilled to see our volunteers dedicate their time to make a difference in the life of a child. I had a great time playing games and getting to know our middle school students. They are a fantastic group of kids!

As you may have seen on social media and our homepage, we unfortunately needed to cancel the Crazy Bowl Fundraiser due to low interest. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee members who began planning this event with me in June. I truly appreciate your work and interest in our school community.

I look forward to seeing many of you the rest of this fun season - especially at the Halloween parades and parties and the ABC Fall Fest!! You can follow me on Instagram (d81sup), and continue to connect with us on Facebook (Schiller Park School District 81) and Twitter (@SPDistrict81).
