Do You Live in a Nest?
This week we read Do You Live in a Nest? This story was a short play and gave the students an opportunity to practice reading a play for later on in the year. We are constantly working on our fluency and comprehension as we are reading through stories, so be sure to do the same at home.

Drafting, drafting, drafting
During our small guided groups, we worked on editing our papers. The students were helping each other with word choice and order of sentences. When a student can identify certain errors (word choice, missing word, punctuation, capital letters) in someone else's work (or their own) then the skill is getting mastered.
The students did wonderful with this activity!
Geometry and shapes
We have begun shapes and geometry which is topic 15. We completed topic 14 on Monday and the students did awesome on both the benchmark and the topic test. We also spent a journal time in the morning writing an interrogative sentence, and then creating a graph with our information from the class.
Students are collecting data for graphs by answering interrogative sentences.
Cameron Hacker showing off he can create a shape with other shapes, as well as identifying what shapes he used!
Tucker Sharp is our next star student!!
