Biographical Information
King John was born in 1166 and died in 1216, he was crowned King on May 27th,1199. He was the son of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine. He was the youngest son and his nickname was "LackLand" because his brothers each owned their own land. He succeeded his brother Richard the LionHeart to the throne of England. In 1189 He married Avisa, daughter and heiress of William Fitz Robert but the marriage was annulled. Later, he married Isabelle of Angouleme in 1200. He was described to be unscrupulous, cruel, disloyal, and a notorious womaniser. He had very treacherous behavior toward his brother, Richard LionHeart. King John was forced into signing the Manga Carta in 1166, this document lowered the power of the King and allowed the formation of a powerful parliament. King John died on October 19, 1216, he died from eating too many peaches.
