Dear London Families,
Welcome to the first issue of the London Loop for the 2019-2020 school year! This bi-weekly newsletter will include information on the latest happenings and a look ahead on any London events. My hope is that you will find this newsletter useful as we continue to seek multiple ways to share information with our families.
I encourage all families to continue to follow London by viewing our website, follow us on Twitter (@ccsd21london) and/or like our Facebook page. Social media can be a positive tool of communication and London will continue to use social media outlets to share information with our learning community.
I'm happy to share we have new staff in our main office team. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Roth and Mrs. Vazquez-Torres. Mrs. Roth is our incoming assistant principal. As a result of Mrs. Ami Kawanaga moving to a new role within the district, Mrs. Vazquez-Torres is our new secretary. They already started working in their respective roles to prepare for the school year and are looking forward to serving the London community!
Lastly, I want to thank you for allowing me, and the rest of the London staff, to be part of your child’s learning experience. Do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the staff if you have questions or suggestions on how we can better serve you and our students.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Dr. Luis Correa
Principal
Construction Updates
We will be moving back to our regular office spaces starting Monday, August 19th. However, the entrance to the building is still through door 25 (by the nurse's office) until further notice. Please call our main line at 847-520-2745 if you need assistance. We will send more updates as projects are completed.
Schedule Pick-Up
Students need to be registered through the district's system in order to receive a class schedule. If you still need to complete the registration process for your child, please follow this link for detailed information or call our main office. Computers will be available during Schedule Pick-Up for families who need to complete the registration process.
London PTSA
Meet the London PTSA
(Parent, Teacher & Student Association)
Welcome back to all our new and returning families! This year our PTSA will be focused on bringing parents, families, teachers, administrators and students together to create memorable and meaningful experiences for the London community.
Please stop by during schedule pickup to learn more about all the FUN things we have planned for London students and staff throughout the school year. We will be located in the North Commons and would love to meet you.
Volunteer and PTSA Board positions are available and a great way to stay connected in middle school.
Our 1st PTSA meeting is Tuesday, September 17th from 7-8 pm at London's LMC.
We have a strict “no pressure” policy. Our goal is for you to be as involved as you like. Attending a meeting doesn’t commit you to anything other than getting some info and maybe meeting some new people. We hope you’ll join us!!
If you’re new to London, we’re happy to help answer any questions you might have or point you in the right direction. Welcome to the London family! We hope you and your student(s) love it as much as we do!
If you’d like to reach out to us directly, please feel free to contact us Georgiann Vlachos (georgiannvlachos70@gmail.com) or Melissa Mykleby (melissamykleby@gmail.com) anytime.
