The WAVA Wave
January 2017
A Message From Our Principal
Dear Students, Parents & Learning Coaches,
I hope everyone was able to spend some quality time with their family & friends over the recent winter break. My family was able to spend some time together, eat some delicious foods and played a few board games. Now that we are all refreshed from our recent mini break, I am hopeful students will finish strong this semester.
The month of January is particularly short with the Martin Luther King Holiday on Jan 16th and finals week set for Jan 23 to Jan 27. It is so important for our students to make every day meaningful from now until the end of the semester. Teachers have been asked to reach out to students & students are being asked to reach out to teachers for any additional support to help them finish the semester strong!
Our December Student of the Month assembly has been moved to January to accommodate the winter break schedule. The ASB will also be looking for your help in preparation for the MLK assembly. They will be asking each homeroom to participate in the assembly, much like the Veterans Day Assembly they hosted in November.
As we continue to settle into our routines and dive into our daily lessons I would like to provide a courteous reminder that students should be working in each class, each day. Regular communication with their teachers. All homeroom sessions meet once a week, either on Tuesday morning or Tuesday morning.
The teachers are excited to welcome students back to school. WAVA returns to regularly scheduled sessions on Tuesday January 3rd.
I hope you have a great day! My Virtual door is always open.
