We will all miss her and her bright and cheerful presence in our school. We want to offer her our best wishes as she embarks on a new phase of her career at the Rise Program for Babies and families of Cheshire County.
Again, thank you Miss Jess. We wish you every success!

Early Registration Is OPEN!
Although our hearts may be stuck in warm September 2017, it's actually time to start the early registration process for academic year 2018-2019! This year is FLYING by. Effective Monday, January 28th, our early enrollment season with early registration perks (YAY!) began.
Our priority, early registration deadline for the 18/19 academic year is Friday, February 16th.
Families who register their students and pay the $175 registration fee between Monday, January 28th and Friday, February 16th will receive a full-zip, fleece vest with SMS logo for each of their registered students! (Families on FACTS - you can opt to add your 18/19 registration fee to your remaining 17/18 tuition payments!)
Packets went home with your students on Monday. Check those backpacks! Please note that tuition rates listed on the 18/19 enrollment form are 17/18 tuition rates. You can expect tuition to increase at least 2% annually. When the 18/19 tuition rates have been determined, we will notify our families.
Financial Aid is available to qualifying families with students in grades K - 12! Our financial aid application letter and requirements are included in the early registration packet.
You can preview the online application and access the FACTS Grant and Aid Application HERE.
Parents of Current 8th Grade Students.
Internal students applying for admission to Saint Michael High School do not need to complete the interview process as they are already an active part of this community; however, applicants will need to submit an application essay to accompany their 18/19 registration. All current Saint Michael students who apply to our high school program will have priority acceptance and first access to our need-based financial aid funding.
The student essay overview will come home with your student on Monday, January 30th as part of the early registration packet.
If you have questions about the High School program, I'm happy to meet with families to discuss our program, philosophy and direction.
I'm available to answer any questions about the registration process, re-enrollment and financial aid that you may have. Contact me at any point!
Middle School Families: FARM ATTIRE
Good afternoon,
It is very important that your student(s) remember their weather appropriate attire for the farm program on Fridays. We walk each week, and depending on the week, activities could be inside or outside. The safety of the students is our utmost concern, therefore: if students do not bring appropriate attire, they will be asked to stay behind at school.
Thank you,
Ms. Nobile & Mr. Patriquin
Cold/Flu Reminders!
In this season of colds, just a couple reminders for our students (especially the younger ones!)
- Please remind your students to wash their hands often and well!
- Show them how to sneeze into their elbow to help contain germs.
- Remind them to stay hydrated!
As a reminder to parents, it is our policy that your student be FEVER-FREE (without Tylenol or Motrin) for 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you!
If your student isn't feeling well and needs to stay home, a call to the office by 8:30 is much appreciated.
Thank you so much, and good luck dodging the germs! :)
Reminder: End of School Date change
We have used all our Snow Days, plus one - so now, the school year gets a little longer.
The last day of school has changed to Wednesday, June 13th.
Please mark your calendars accordingly!
For our High Schoolers: Driving School
SMS parents,
Good morning!
The Southern Vermont Driving School is reaching out to let Saint Michael School families know that there are still openings in the 2018 SVDS July-August class.
SVDS has extended SMS priority placement for applications for the 2019 January course! The January class would likely finish over February vacation 2019. If you are interested in reserving a spot, please contact David Kolkebeck and we'll work out the details!
David is in Brattleboro once or twice a week for private lessons and usually finishes between 3 and 4pm if you would like to meet and discuss. Saint Michael School actually holds a special geographic place in the drive schedule: we slowly circle through to get back into the courthouse triangle, where students learn how to make the perfect lane change before tackling 91!
Best wishes,
David Kolkebeck
